The Zika virus transmission is currently taking place in mainly Central American and South American countries. The virus is mosquito borne and the illness can result in fever, headaches, joint pain, and/or muscle and bone pain. According to Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs, “the illness is not severe and does not require hospitalisation”. The same Department also states “There is currently no vaccine to prevent Zika virus and no specific treatment”.
Although the Butantan Institute in Sao Paulo plans to develop a vaccine in “record time”.
Why all the hype and/or propaganda? Well according to Australian Virologists via ABC (Australia) Zika virus is linked to brain damage in thousands of babies in Brazil. But, “there is little scientific data on Zika virus and it is unclear why it might be causing microcephaly in Brazil”. Could microcephaly be caused by Brazil being the biggest consumer of pesticides on the planet, along with 22 out of 50 of the main ingredients in pesticides being banned in most other countries but not Brazil?
