They cannot be serious! Come on. Apparently Professional touring Tennis players are tanking the game because of betting allowed in the sport, mainly. Another Ho-Hum report started by the BBC/Buzzfeed. I am going to say here that I was expecting it to focus on Russian players with maybe Italians, French, German, and pretty much any country that the US want to make look bad because they don’t want to be a vassal of the dying US anymore. This scenario is very similar to FIFA in football and Russia in athletics. According to ABC online; ‘The blacklist, seen by the ABC's Four Corners as part of a wider investigation into match-fixing in the sport, is maintained by one of [Europe's biggest bookmakers]. The program handed the list to tennis authorities on Monday.”
Nineteen other bookmakers including Ladbrokes (free advertising for them) cancelled betting on certain matches. Then I see Martina Navratilova on ABC news television, (I was flicking channels), saying we need more money to combat it – millions. WHAT? So millions of tax payers’ dollars will sort it will it? We need zero tax payers dollars Martina, stick with Tennis not politics. The government could just get rid of gambling in some sports, well all for that matter. The thing is that the whole thing looks like it was started by bookmakers because they are not making as much money as they want to. I wonder how much the bookies donate to political parties. Oh, and we are going to have an ‘independent review’ on the match fixing (lol). Looks more like money thrown at friends on something that can’t be proved. I think we will need to look at players receiving appearance fees to appear at a tournament and then pulling out of said tournament with an injury after the first round if we are going to be serious.
I leave with this article (again) from ZeroHedge, and this one on Australia’s rising public sector corruption here.
